Knife Specs
Each of my knives is made start to finish in my shop. I hollow grind each blade, by hand, without the use of jigs or rests. I have many designs but I am also glad to customize your knife to your design specifications. The steel I usually use is 154-CM or CPM-154. I also use damascus steels (carbon and stainless) made from several quality damascus makers. I will use most quality steels upon your request. In blade finishes, I offer bead blast, satin and mirror finish. I also do my own heat treating and cryogenic treating. The handle materials are of the highest quality and include beautiful stabilized woods, bone, horn, and ivory. Quality of fit and finish are of utmost importance. Some specialties I offer but do not do myself include scrimshaw, by my mom Dixie Hull, and engraving, by Otto Carter at ottocarter.com. Finally, to the sheath. I believe each knife deserves a sheath of equal quality. Mine are made of 8 to 9 ounce leather and are hand stitched and tooled. For the smaller pocket knives I use 6 to 7 ounce leather. I custom make each sheath to fit the knife it is designed for.
Above all, I am committed to customer satisfaction. If a knife fails in any way under normal use I will repair or replace it at my discretion. And, if you order a knife and are not fully satisfied with it, promptly return it, in original condition, for a full refund. I am also glad to resharpen my knives at only the cost of shipping.
